Happy New Year dear readers, I hope you had a peaceful Christmas. I have been listening very carefully to my over-active imagination and have started 2023 by jotting down many new ideas for charming stories about Mim the Mouse and her tiny world.
If you have been following me on social media for some time, you may indeed be wondering about Mim’s family and friends and whether these gorgeous little characters will be introduced in upcoming books.
Well, wonder no longer for I am delighted to tell you that I have just finished the first draft of my sequel in ‘The Adventures of Mim the Mouse’ series and this particular story introduces a very special little mouse: Morris.

Morris is a wood-mouse. Which means, unlike Mim, he doesn’t have the warmth and security of the walls of a human house that you can get to through a hole in a skirting board. Morris lives under the great leafy canopy of the woods which means he has to endure all sorts of weather and wild animals. Rather than finding tasty morsels of cheese and bread in the kitchen, he forages for things like berries and mushrooms and takes a long journey through the woods everyday to keep his little larder fully stocked.

Morris the Mouse also happens to be very knowledgeable about the healing properties of different herbs and flowers so one day, when Mim finds herself with an injured paw whilst she is blackberry picking, Morris offers to help her. In this story, their adventure through the woods becomes fraught with danger as the pair of mice brave a terrible storm, encounter the rushing river and have to escape the talons of a monstrous owl. Through Morris’s kindness, unwavering loyalty and friendship, Mim realises that she has found the most important mouse in her little life.
I am currently in the process of illustrating the book but I am hoping it will be published some time this year. Do follow me on social media and subscribe to my blog for regular updates. Have a wonderful 2023!
